I have been writing the cheeky goat since April 2010. I am a mother, a wife, a writer and a fledgling and often fumbling photographer. the cheeky goat began as a food blog in April of 2010 and over time seems to have turned into a blog of reflection. Be that as it may, I’d love to hear from you. Feel free to contact me at:

As for the ever-pressing concern of public relations, I will happily write a review of your product or service if it is something you truly believe a feminist concerned with human rights, her children’s health and safety and the environment would use, then by all means, contact me. Otherwise, I wouldn’t bother although I’ll be kind when I do let you know. You’ll notice I don’t feature ads on this blog and this is a conscious choice. I shop locally at my favourite privately-owned bookstores, the farmers’ market, used and vintage clothing stores and when all else fails, we go as ethical and organic as feasible. As with reviews, my policy of ads would be the same.
Hello! I just read about your mashed potato pancakes. What would you substitute your almond flour with. My son’s allergic to nuts, but I think he would really like this.
Thanks!
Teresa
Hi Teresa,
I use almond flour instead of a finely ground bread crumbs so I should think that would work well for you! Most commercial bread crumbs have cheese in them (which makes them oh so delicious) but my kids wouldn’t be able to enjoy them. I hope this works for you, basically you need something that will soak up the extra liquid from the eggs so the potato pancakes will bind properly.
Thanks for stopping by,
Joy
Hello!
What a nice blog! Gives me a good source to explore Nova Scotian cuisine…
I am the French Girl who sells French Macarons at Pete’s Frootique (and I met you last Saturday in Bedford, you bought 3 violet macarons, hope you enjoyed them!), do you remember me?
Do you if there’s any culinary event in Halifax?
It was a pleasure to meet you!
Have a good day!
Florence
